The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has announced its participation at this year's Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2016).

DEWA is set to showcase its latest technical achievements, and in particular it's smart and innovate services and initiatives to make a happy Dubai.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said: "Through our participation in GITEX 2016, we are keen to ensure the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make the UAE one of the most innovative countries in the world.

"We intend to provide an innovative and high-quality experience for visitors to introduce them to DEWA's new smart services, initiatives and projects in a new interactive way. Our participation in GITEX 2016 reflects our commitment to communicate directly with our customers to get them acquainted with our latest achievements."

Marwan Salem bin Haidar, executive vice president of innovation and the future division at DEWA, added: "We are witnessing a remarkable technological development locally and internationally. The exhibition is an ideal platform for us to benefit from such experiences and best practices, with an opportunity to build new and active partnerships with leading regional and international organisations in technology. It also opens up new horizons for us to develop our services and applications to cope with the ongoing development and increasing demands of Dubai's population."

"DEWA has reached an advanced stage in its smart transformation. This has happened by shaping the future and adopting state-of-the-art technological solutions. This helps DEWA achieve its goals to meet the aspirations of the UAE's wise leadership to enhance innovation and creativity as two major pillars of a successful future," he added.

DEWA recently revealed a smart service campaign to enable customers to win valuable prizes through raffle draws. Customers who pay their full electricity and water bills for three consecutive months starting from July 2016 will be eligible for the raffle draw, with the draw taking place during GITEX.

GITEX will be held during from 16-20 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre and DEWA will be stationed at stand number S2-D1.
