Smart Dubai Government Establishment hosts delegation to discuss ERP for government
Smart Dubai Government Establishment (SDG) has hosted a delegation from Department of Finance - Abu Dhabi, to discuss best practices for government resources planning systems (GRPS).
The delegation from Abu Dhabi was received by Huda Al Hashimi, Director, Government Information Resources Planning Systems, SDG, along with senior departmental officials. The meeting focused on best practice and future collaboration between the two.
SDG provided a detailed explanation to the members about the GRPS, an integrated suite of shared centralized solutions provided by them to all Dubai government entities to assist them in managing all their basic back-office operations, including finance, logistics, human resources, payroll, supply chain, asset life management, and related self-services.
The delegation was informed about the government information network (GIN), which provides a secure, high capacity network connection between government entities, and discussed government procurement systems. They also discussed the Smart Employee app, which provides Dubai government employees with a mobile app to access services and make requests from the GRPS.
Department of Finance - Abu Dhabi is responsible for the Abu Dhabi Enterprise Resource Planning System (ADERP), a shared ERP solution which provides services for 55 Abu Dhabi government entities.
ADERP was first implemented in 2013, to provide an integrated financial framework to manage the Abu Dhabi government general budget. The system features 25 modules financials and HR functions, and joint e-services for government entities to manage internal and external resources, perform financial operations, procurement and human resources, while maintaining work independency.
