Dubai South signs MoU with Huawei for smart solutions Under the MoU, Huawei will provide Dubai South's Business Park Free Zone with a range of solutions from connectivity through to smart city systems.

Dubai South, the master development that is home to Al Maktoum International Airport and Expo 2020, has signed an MoU with Huawei to provide smart city capabilities and services to its free zone.

Under the MoU, Huawei will develop services for business and residents of the Dubai South Business Park Free Zone, to deploy smart city and safe city solutions. The Business Park Free Zone comprises of 11 buildings offering commercial and retail space for a number of business sectors.

Huawei will provide solutions including end-to-end network planning and technology, mobile and fixed broadband infrastructure, Internet of Things (IoT) platform to deploy smart city solutions and services and other technologies from an open partner eco-system for smart development.

"The MoU between Dubai South and Huawei will see the deployment of Huawei's Smart City and Safe City Solutions to provide enhanced services to residents and businesses in the Park," said Colin Hu, managing director of Huawei Enterprise, UAE. "Huawei will provide strategic counsel to support the development of a blueprint for Dubai South's smart initiatives. Huawei will also share its global expertise through training sessions, expert workshops and guided visits to other key customer sites where Huawei Smart City solutions have been implemented."
