What is your company’s history?
Matica Technologies AG was established in 2013, as a result of a merger of two Europe based companies namely Digital Identifications Solutions, Germany and Matica Systems, Italy. The two parent companies have a combined experience of 15 + years in the ID personalisation and financial card issuance markets.
For the government sector, Matica offers solutions for the issuance of national IDs, driver’s license, vehicle registration, passport/visa and voters registration. In the financial sector, Matica works with banks to issue credit and debit cards as well as pre-paid cards.
What is your company’s core competence?
Matica Technologies designs, develops, manufactures and integrates hardware and software solutions for ID personalisation and financial card issuance systems. The portfolio includes central and instant issuance solutions for financial, government, healthcare, corporate, education, transport, telecommunication, and retail applications, such as passports, driving licences, or access control cards.
What are some of the trends impacting the card issuance market?
The growth of secured card-based transactions and the increasing need for secure ID cards is having major impact in the card issuance market.
Discuss the latest solutions from your company
We have introduced different types of printing, embossing and engraving solutions along with electronic encoding and personalisation systems which address the full spectrum of requirements as demanded by the ID personalisation and financial card issuance industry. It covers both desktop systems as needed by the instant issuance segment as well mass production systems as demanded by the central issuance market.
Matica recently launched of the S3200, a retransfer printer for the instant issuance of personalised flat financial cards. The S3200 targets banks, credit card companies, department stores, credit unions and other financial organizations who will find the multi-functional S3200 an ideal asset as the demand for personalised financial cards continues to grow.
What is your presence in the Middle East?
We have significant footprint in the ME market with participation in major government and financial card issuance projects.
Describe some of your biggest successes in the region
The Matica Group operates around the world through its offices in Italy, Germany, France, Mexico, Singapore, China, Hong Kong the USA and the UAE, and supports its thousands of customers with its network of certified resellers, value added distributors and integration partners.
We have our highly acclaimed retransfer printers working in five major large volume government projects in ME personalising more than seven million cards per year for the past 10+ years.
What are your regional goals for the rest of the year and beyond?
It is our endeavour to make Matica brand the preferred vendor for ID personalisation and financial card printing solutions in the region and would strive to increase our footprints across various verticals both with desktop based instant issuance systems as well as the central issuance systems.
