We recently launched our mobility initiative that includes solutions, services, investments and alliances that expand the capabilities of trusted IDs on mobile devices across a growing range of access control, authentication and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This shifts how users regard security by enabling them to confidently connect to, and use, more applications on the go than ever before, with a single, trusted ID that can be carried on a smart device. Our various mobility offering include the HID goID platform for mobile ID for the government sector, and mobile access capabilities, which include support for the Apple Watch and Android, wear.
How does this mobility drive and other trends affect security?
When it comes to security, the industry is rapidly moving from security-driven to being experience-driven. Customers are increasingly seeking a comprehensive secure identity experience for their users. One of the top developing trends that is shaping the secure identity landscape in 2016 is the move to “mobilising” security, which will make it more pervasive and personalised. As users do more with phones and increasingly demand any-where/anytime on-line access there is the opportunity to better protect these activities while creating an enhanced, mobile-centric security experience at home, in the office, on the road and on-line.
What’s the latest on HID Global’s traditional physical security solutions?
We have introduced our latest eco-friendly Direct-to-Card (DTC) FARGO DTC5500LMX ID Card Printer/Encoder designed to meet the high-volume, card issuance demands of large government agencies, universities, healthcare facilities and other large enterprises. Our new FARGO HDP5600 ID Card Printer/Encoder builds upon our award-winning high definition printing (HDP) solutions for retail stores, recreation facilities, governments and other organisations focused on brand image and/or visual security.
