What is your current role in the ICT industry in the Middle East and what are your responsibilities?

I am a senior regional manager for DrayTek, a networking solutions vendor. I am responsible for the business development for DrayTek within the ICT industry in the MEA market.

What is the best thing about your job?

Undoubtedly, the best way to contribute towards our objectives is to make IT managers learn more about our products and solutions. I can help them realise the benefits they can receive from adopting our solutions, convince them of its superiority and ultimately implement the same for their end customers.

How innovative do you think the network industry in the Middle East is and how can it improve?

The network industry is Middle East is booming. The past four years I’ve been in the region, I have been witness to a real revolution in especially IoT and the connections this has enabled in bringing people together. This momentum is in tandem with IT innovation that is also evolving rapidly.

What are the upcoming trends or products in your sector?

The all-in-one approach to products and services grows stronger. People and organisations are inclined to seek new and useful tools to make their lives easier. We’re developing our new all-in-one box bundling with rich-features which cover the wireless controller, Wi-Fi roaming and the social Wi-Fi’s captive portal to allow the Wi-Fi hotspot host to learn more from their clients through adopting social media.

Does your company utilise virtualisation or cloud computing and if so what products/ implementations do you have?

A lot of organisations today feel comfortable to allow service providers carry out remote management when issues arise in their networks. However, this kind of design can’t meet the requirement for Internet security, which pushed us to develop our Central Management system. The management system we developed is cloud-based, allowing service providers adopt the virtualised connection network.

What are your out-of-office hobbies?

Jogging outside is my favourite thing to do-it allows me release stress.
