On Saturday, Apple's chief executive officer Tim Cook surprised shoppers at the Mall of Emirates.

Cook met with Apple employees and customers, where he took pictures and discussed the latest trends around Apple's products.

His visit to the Mall hit social media platforms and even Cook himself tweeted about his visit. He said: A quick visit with customers and out fantastic team at the Apple Store, Mall of Emirates. Thanks Dubai!"

The CEO had first visited the UAE in 2014 and met His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The first Apple stores officially opened in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in October last year.

Before arriving in the UAE, Cook had been in India where he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unveiled a Map developer's office in Hyderabad and launched an updated version of the "Narendra Modi Mobile App".
