Smart Dubai Office discusses plans with Dubai Land Department
Meeting held to discuss strategy and components for Smart Dubai transformation

Smart Dubai Office has held an indepth with Dubai Land Department, as part of SDO's ongoing activities to align all strategic partners of the Smart Dubai transformation with the goals and aims of the project.
The meetings, that were led by HE Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of SDO, focused on the strategic aims of Smart Dubai and the various component initiatives such as the Dubai Data Establishment, Dubai Now app and Smart Dubai Platform.
HE Bin Bishr said: "Our vision is to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world, taking into account all the possible environmental dimensions for establishing this desired city characterized by a smart life, smart mobility, a smart community, a smart economy, smart governance, and a smart environment.
"We aim to facilitate and standardize the smart transformation process across the city of Dubai. Today, we are here to share with you the accomplishments of Smart Dubai Office in its efforts to lead the ongoing transformation. We are committed to fostering cooperation, overcoming all obstacles, integrating work and mobilizing creative ideas all together to provide shared smart services to the public and private sectors. These efforts will reflect positively on the people of Dubai and make them happy in fulfilment of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to turn Dubai into the smartest city in the world by 2017," she added.
HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department commented: "We are pleased to host the Smart Dubai Office delegation to consider their proposals to achieve the desired smart shift in our institutions. Dubai Land Department plays a vital role providing services to the real estate sector, one of the most important economic sectors. It is imperative we keep abreast of smart technology developments, ensure compatibility with government directives and the wider vision of our esteemed leadership.
"Smart applications have become a modern necessity to carry out our operations and our activities, in order to ensure parity with global progress. Dubai Land Department provides nine smart applications to ensure the best services are provided and achieve a satisfactory service for all Dubai residents in easy and convenient ways," HE Bin Mejren added.
HE Younis Al Nasser, CEO of Dubai Data Establishment, discussed the structure of SDO, which he described as a sophisticated and advanced step towards the development of a smart city. The Office oversees Smart Dubai Government Establishment (SDG), the technical arm of Smart Dubai, and Dubai Data Establishment, which disseminates and exchanges data between the public and private sectors.
