HM Sultan Qaboos eGovernment awards open in June The fifth annual HM Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment will be presented in December.

Registration will open for the fifth annual HM Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment on 1st June.

The Awards, which are organised by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of Oman, honour digital projects that have provided exceptional achievements and innovations in information technology in the public sector in Oman. The Award also aims to improve the quality of local services and simplify its procedures to ensure greater confidence and public contribution

The Awards were founded in 2010, and are open to Oman government entities, large organisations and SMEs. Awards are presented in 11 categories, with awards for government entities in Best e-Service including (G2E, G2B), Best e-Services via Mobile including (G2E, G2B), Best whole of government Project, Best service supporting doing business, and Best e-participation for decision making initiative, Best e-transformation achievement.

For private sector organisations, large enterprises can nominate for Best Public eService and Best Public Mobile eService., and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can participate, in the category for Best SME eService.

The evaluation stage will be held from August 21st until 30th while the jury session will commence in October and the award ceremony will be in December.
