Belkin seeks new retail partners in Middle East
Vendor is at DISTREE Middle East 2016 to develop new markets in Middle East and North Africa
IT and accessories vendor Belkin has said it is at DISTREE Middle East 2016 to meet new potential partners as part of its wider channel and business development strategy aimed at accessing countries in the region where the company doesn't have distribution.
The company also said its participation and this year's consumer electronics' show will give Belkin the opportunity to also meet current retail partners and present to them the roadmap and strategy for 2016.
Nicoletta Laffi, managing director, South Europe at Belkin, said the company is at this year's show to assess potential business opportunities with new retail partners that it hopes to onboard in 2016.
"Belkin is an established global IT and consumer electronic accessories vendor. Our core business is to supply an ecosystem of innovative accessories for smartphones, tablets, laptop/Macbooks and TVs," he said. "For these devices, we are one of the few vendors capable of offering cases to chargers, all type of cables, battery pack and screen protectors. We have recently introduced a new ecosystem around the Apple Watch, which will be showcasing at DISTREE."
Laffi said the company believes that there is huge potential to unlock in Saudi Arabia, Iran and North Africa. "The business is focused around the retail channel and our proposal is built to fulfil the need of our partners and ultimately, the end user consumers the serve. "We have plenty of marketing support, ideas and tools that we will be glad to present to our partners during this year's event at our stand."
He explained that Belkin has built a solid base of business with key partners in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan.
"We are looking to develop better business in Egypt and the entire North Africa market and assess the potential for recruiting partners in Iran.
"The growth of smartphone and wearables business in the region is strong and impressive when it comes to products like the Apple Watch. The charger and battery pack segment are still showing triple digit growth across the regions," he added.
Laffi said these are the main areas of focus for Belkin in 2016 and that's why the company has come to DISTREE to meet with existing and potential retail partners.
