Following the acquisition of BDL Gulf FZCO by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)-based conglomerate Al-Sudais Group, the company has appointed Khaled Osman as the new CEO.
In this new role of CEO, Osman will head and manage BDL Gulf's entire GCC operations, driving growth and cementing the company's position in the traditional IT, wholesale and consumer electronics distribution space. In addition, Osman will also be responsible for guiding the company to expand its vendor alliances and in-country channel development strategies.
According to BDL Gulf, Osman's appointment as the new CEO for the Gulf market will help the company to strengthen its footprint and accelerate growth in the traditional reseller channel, power retail, wholesale and IT trading segment in the region.

Al-Sudais added that the group has been broadening its investments horizons in the IT segment and BDL Gulf fitted the profile of the company that Al-Sudais Group was looking to acquire.
"We are elated to have attracted a top and experienced talent in Khaled who has extensive experience having working as an entrepreneur. Al-Sudais explained that with Osman on board, the company wants to work closely with all vendor partners and the channel ecosystem to drive further growth in the GCC market. "Having worked in various senior management roles in multinationals and helping start-ups, Khaled brings a wealth of business knowledge and international market expertise that will be crucial to BDL Gulf's progression in the GCC and further afield," he said.
Osman added that: "The number one priority is to ensure we reinforce our traditional IT distribution business to able to accelerate our growth and that of our channel partners. This will ensure BDL Gulf becomes the go-to reliable distributor when it comes to volume distribution."
Osman explained that BDL Gulf has traditionally been linked to the wholesale market in the Gulf, however, the aim is to re-establish the distribution strength in IT products and solutions. "In my role, my aim is to make our IT portfolio strong again by signing more brands in storage, networking, security and consumer products," he said.
