Gemalto ID solution for private sector enterprises
ID Verification will enable Middle East banks and telecom operators to fasten customer identification processes
Digital security provider Gemalto, is providing private sector enterprises its identity fraud protection solution, ID Verification.
Enterprises, such as banks and mobile operators, will benefit from the solution as its integrated suite of tools and services will enable verification of customer credentials when opening new accounts and subscriptions in-branch or online. This will aim to reduce financial loss and any negative impact on the brand's reputation caused by identity theft.
Gemalto's ID Verification will assist in the enrolment process when verifying documents, such as ID cards and passports, and will protect enterprises against the threat of fraudsters wanting to open bank accounts or acquiring subsidised mobile phones. Online customers are required to photograph their ID credentials, and submit it for automatic verification, then branch staff can verify it by using a standard scanner or tablet.
"ID fraud is one of the fastest growing crimes on the planet and there is a direct impact on the private sector with substantial financial losses. 54% of data breaches in 2014 related to identity theft, 17 percent aimed at financial access and 11% sought account access," said Jean-Claude Perrin, vice president of strategy and marketing for Gemalto.
"Gemalto is recognised as the world's leading provider of secure identity documents for governments, with a document template database covering 170 countries which is a key element of our ID Verification offers. The private sector can leverage our unrivaled experience to protect corporate finances and reputations, without compromising the customer enrollment experience."
ID Verification can be integrated with existing infrastructure, which is available as a platform or in Software as a Service mode to minimise initial investment requirements.
