Facebook’s Lulea data centre lies on the edge of the Arctic Circle, where the River Lule meets the Gulf of Bothnia and is powered by hydro-electricity. It uses the Nordic air to cool the thousands of servers that store photos, videos, comments and likes from Facebook users. Facebook’s giant data halls are 100% renewable. (Facebook)
