Reports highlights statistics and developments on usage of social media platforms across MENA regions
A new social media report by academic Damian Radcliffe offers an analysis of social media in the Middle East and North Africa. His 2015 research and industry round-up highlights the increasing prominence of these platforms.
Radcliffe added: “Five years after the Arab Spring there continues to be a strong global interest in how social media is used in the Middle East. In 2015, the rise of ISIS and questions around managing misinformation and freedom of expression, have added fresh dimensions to these debates; while the rise of relatively newer social media channels such as WhatsApp, Instagram and Snapchat are already changing the Middle East’s social media habits.”
