IRIS to expand partner footprint in corporate sector Akli says the Middle East remains an important market for IRIS.

Optical character recognition (OCR) solutions vendor IRIS used its participated at the recently ended GITEX Technology Week to promote the IRISPen Air 7 and IRISScan Express, two new products introduced in the Middle East market recently.

The company said in addition promoting the latest product offerings, the company is looking at increasing penetration in the corporate segment in the region by appointing reseller partners that serve this sector.

Nassima Akli, sales manager, Middle East at IRIS said this year, the company  came to GITEX to not only promote new products but to also use the event to grow its retail channel base and identify suitable distributors and reseller partners to serve other Gulf countries aside from the UAE. "Our goal is to become the number one OCR brand in the Middle East just like in Europe and US," she said. "Participating at GITEX reaffirmed our commitment to our partners and business development in the region."

Akli said the Middle East remains an important market for IRIS and the company is using the trade fair to meet with existing partners and customers and to also seek new business prospects. "We have cemented our position in the UAE retail sector and want to replicate this to other Gulf States," she added.

Akli explained it recently started selling its products through Dubai Duty free and the retail sales from there have been phenomenal. "We have had good meetings with prospective partners in the retail segment as we want to increase the number of power retailers that are selling our products in the Middle East," she said.

Akli said aside from growing its retail partner base, IRIS is also looking at increasing penetration in the corporate segment in the region. "We are seeking to partner with a distributor that can help us to develop the business in the corporate segment in the Middle East," she said.
