Synology to bring NAS solutions to GITEX
DiskStation Manager 6.0 to take centre stage
Taiwan-based Synology will demonstrate its DiskStation Manager (DSM) 6.0, the latest version of its NAS (network-attached storage) operating system at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2015.
DSM 6.0 incorporates "significant advancements", according to Synology, including in performance, productivity, and flexibility. Version 6.0 is said to be based on a more efficient system architecture by using up to 64-bit architecture on all compatible models and modularising a greater number of applications.
"By leveraging Synology's market-proven software-hardware integration, we are excited to implement our technologies and introduce forward-looking features in cloud application, virtualisation, data protection, and disaster recovery" said Victor Wang, Sales Manager, Synology. "With DSM 6.0, we expect to help businesses to grow faster and do more with the cloud."
Added features in DSM 6.0 include virtualised DSM; data protection and disaster recovery; collaboration tools; file sync and backup; and multimedia functionality.
