Taiwan's HTC has announced the HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM, its latest LTE-enabled smartphone, is now available in the UAE.

The Desire 626 is a mid-range model with a curved chassis designed "mould to your hand", HTC said.

"[The] HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM, LTE-enabled smartphone... is packed full of advanced features, yet it sits in our mid-range smartphone collection, enabling us to deliver the very best in terms of design, performance, user experience and value to our customers," said Neeraj Seth, head, Marketing, HTC Middle East and Africa.

The 626 runs Android 4.4 (KitKat) and features HTC's own customised Sense interface on top of Google's OS. It is powered by an octa-core 1.7GHz processor, has a 5-inch HD LCD screen; and supports LTE connectivity.

Also included, as is now standard with HTC's handsets, is BlinkFeed, which provides a customised content stream to the device's home screen.

The main, rear-facing camera is 13MP and the front-facing alternate is 5MP. Selfies can be taken from any angle, according to HTC, and then edited using Eye Experience, for instant effects and built-in enhancements. Old photos can also be edited and turned into 3-second HD videos using Zoe, an app that allows the mixing and sharing of photos.

The Desire 626 can also capture 1080p video using either the front- or rear-facing cameras, which can be turned into mini movies and shared, using the handset's Video Highlights feature.

The HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM comes in White Birch and Blue Lagoon and is available from select retail outlets across the UAE.
