The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has rolled out a new app for its inspectors to use smart phones for recording parking offences.

The app, which was developed by Jordan-based STS, enables inspectors to capture high quality images of vehicles that are violating traffic laws, and also to use location-based services to accurately log the the geographical location of violating vehicles. Inspectors are also able to access data about vehicles.

The improved data will be of use when handling complaints enables response and closure within the defined timeframe.

The app will be used in monitoring around 125,000 parking slots and five parking buildings of multiple levels from one operation centre.

This new service comes as the Authority seeks the best and easiest ways to simplify work procedures for the beneficiaries of the service.
