Oman ITA hosts info security workshop The training sessions are intended to raise awareness of IT security issues for government organisations.

Oman's Information Technology Authority (ITA) represented by the Oman National CERT is conducting an information security training session this week, as part of its ongoing campaign to raise awareness of cyber security issues.

The four-day workshop is being held from 16th to 19th August, at the Hormuz Grand Hotel, Muscat, with participation from 40 cyber security experts, analysts and IT professionals' from both national and international cyber security organisations including government. The ITA has been

The workshop will cover a number of topics, including planning, execution and follow up for cybersecurity awareness programs. The program aims to build information security abilities to deal with security incidents and risks at government organisations.

The campaign also aims to enhancing awareness of government employees around cybersecurity threats and how to combat these threats. The event also highlights the best practices currently adopted in the field of information security particularly in the areas of business continuity and security incident response and recovery.
