ESET makes File Security product available for Microsoft Azure
Security vendor’s offering tacked on to Redmond’s cloud suite as VM extension
Security vendor ESET today announced that its File Security product will offered as part of Microsoft Azure, running as a virtual-machine (VM) extension within the cloud-infrastructure platform.
According to Microsoft's MSDN blog, Azure incorporates a number of proprietary and third-party VM extensions to deliver tools for security, runtime, debugging, management and other productivity functions. Azure carries a number of infrastructure security elements and anti-malware solutions built by Microsoft and other vendors.
"ESET File Security provides superior protection for virtual file servers," said Peter Vrana, senior product manager, ESET. "Our proven ESET NOD32 scanning engine, high detection-speed, smooth performance and stability make the solution ideal for virtual environments."
ESET File Security provides security logs, protection-status information and system notifications. Native clustering support is designed for automatic replication of settings across nodes. The File Security suite is manageable via Web-console, using ESET Remote Administrator 6.
