Two US companies have joined forces to file a lawsuit against South Korean firm Hynix Semiconductor and other chipmakers seeking compensation for alleged price fixing of memory chips.

Computer maker Sun Microsystems and computer service company Unisys jointly filed the suit on September 1 with the US District Court for the Northern District of California, US.

In a filing with the Korea Exchange, the companies said they incurred losses from dynamic random access memory (DRAM) purchases due to alleged price-fixing by the chipmakers.

The amount of compensation being sought was not disclosed. The two firms filed similar but separate cases in separate lawsuits earlier this year.
