Arab Potash Company connects with new IP telephony system The Cisco IP telephony system will give APC new capabilities such as instant messaging and presence.

Arab Potash Company (APC) has deployed a new IP telephony system using Cisco solutions, to improve efficiency and communications at the company, with the aim of increasing the work output and customer satisfaction.

APC, the sole producer of potash in the Arab World, selected systems integrator STS to deploy the call processing system.

The project included upgrading the network infrastructure for the IP telephony call processing system and adopting the latest voice and video communication technologies from Cisco. In addition to the voice and video communication, the solution will introduce new services between its headquarters and branches such as Instant Messaging (IM) and Presence by utilizing the same infrastructure used for voice, video and data. The new solution will also revamp the way Arab Potash Company employees configure and utilize the solution.

Rami Malkawi, IT director of APC, said that the company is committed to adopting technology solutions to guarantee the highest efficiency of work at the company and to achieve the highest levels of partner and customer satisfaction. He also confirmed the Arab Potash Company's trust in the abilities of STS to implement the largest communications projects and keep pace with the latest technology solutions by worldwide vendors.
