DST, MapR Technologies tie-up Kanth says the deal enables DST to add its big data skills strength to the reliability, scalability and performance of the MapR enterprise-grade platform.

Data Science Technologies (DST), a subsidiary of StorIT Distribution, has announced a new distribution partnership with MapR Technologies, provider of Apache Hadoop.

Under the accord, DST will be able to offer enterprises in the Middle East cutting-edge technologies to address key big data challenges for business critical applications. In addition, DST will market and offer the MapR Enterprise Edition, the MapR Enterprise Database Edition and the MapR Sandbox for Hadoop in the UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman to help enterprise customers quickly and effortlessly capture critical big data insights.

With this partnership, DST said it will be able to offer customers the ability to leverage massive amounts of data to impact business “as it happens” shifting the IT cost curve and allowing companies to strategically change their business models.
