Security company RSA is to bring its leading industry event, the RSA Conference, to Abu Dhabi this year.

The RSA Conference, one of the leading get-togethers for the security sector, will launch an edition to be held in Abu Dhabi in November, to cater to EMEA region security professionals. RSA already holds conferences in the US and Asia-Pacific.

RSA Conference is in discussions with the UAE National Electronic Security Authority (NESA), about the launch of the event.

"The Middle East has rapidly emerged as an information security market whose influence extends well beyond its borders," said Art Coviello, RSA executive chairman. "Our plans to launch RSA Conference Abu Dhabi 2015 provides a venue for the larger information security industry to tap into the burgeoning vitality and creativity of the Middle East and North African markets. We look forward to facilitating the same level of industry interaction and advancement in Abu Dhabi that has long characterised the RSA Conference experience."

"As Internet penetration and investments in advanced technologies continue to surge in the Middle East, the need for enterprises and governments to deploy advanced security technologies and proactive policies grow even further." said Mohammed Amin, senior vice president, EMC Turkey, Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East region. "In recent months, we have seen frequent instances of advanced cyber-attacks and espionage campaigns targeting critical industries, enterprises and governments across the region making cyber security a core focus area for both enterprises and governments. The RSA Conference Abu Dhabi is aimed at highlighting the importance of adopting an ‘Intelligence Driven Approach' to security while fostering an environment of learning and awareness for both public and private sector entities to better understand the wider threat landscape and outlook for the future."
