Emt Distribution, the specialty IT security products distributor has announced that its education and training arm, Emt Academy has tied up with Australian university, Charles Sturt University (CSU) to offer a free online course for its preferred channel partner on virtualisation.

According to Emt, the online course has been tailored at all aspects of virtualisation and consists of an in-depth study of virtualisation and the key advantages of VMware and Microsoft offerings. In addition, the course will introduce virtualised data centres and highlight the main components that form this environment.

"As a value added distributor, we wanted to enrich the channel with specific skills and knowledge that led us to initiate Emt Academy. The academy is part of a strategic vision plan for channel growth in the region," said, Mohammad Mobasseri, CEO at Emt Distribution. "We have always believed that imparting required knowledge, skills and education will empower the channel to be more robust and healthy."

Mobasseri added that this is the first time that any distributor from the region is offering an internationally recognised training programme to its channel partners free of cost in conjunction with an Australian university. "Upon completion of the course, successful candidates will be awarded certification from Charles Sturt University, which will enhance the credibility of our channel partners and boost their confidence for customers to want to work with them,"  he added.

Regionally the course will be administered by Erdal Ozkaya, chief information and security officer (CISO) at Emt Distribution.

Remarking on the initiative, Erdal stated that: "It is a rare feet, that Emt has achieved to enable the channel to grow faster by empowering them with such a specialised course free of charge. Virtualisation is a very specialised area and very few partners are equipped with right knowledge and skills."

CSU is located in New South Wales, Australia and it's the country's fifth largest university offering around 400 courses to approximately 38,000 students worldwide.

The first course will commence this month and all authorised channel partners of Emt Distribution from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Egypt and Kuwait will be eligible to enroll for the programme.
