I typically wake up around 6 am, starting the day with either a run or swim. I then get prepared to go to the office. I usually do a quick scan of my emails, news, messages and any calendar changes.
Some days start earlier than others, depending on whether I have a meeting in Abu Dhabi or not, but I’m usually in the office before 8 am. My commute to the office is less than 10 minutes.
I’m usually in the office by 8 am and I start off by taking care of urgent email and approvals, then prepare for the meetings and day ahead.
Prioritising my time is a constant activity, it’s an iterative process that continues to take place 24 x 7 to ensure my daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings are evaluated carefully and arranged consistently.
I enjoy my job thoroughly, but there are aspects of the job that I enjoy more than others. The three most favourable aspects are: customer engagements, managing complex issues and, coaching and developing my team through hands-on experience.
Prioritising is key, there’s never a dull moment during my daily activities. As a leader, it is crucial for your success to be able to multi-task effectively, develop processes and guidelines.
I don’t usually take lunch, but I do bring a healthy snack box to work and try to sneak in small veggie snacks in between meetings.
Standard business performance measures apply here, such as growth, market share, diversification and mix of business. But I equally value my clients’ satisfaction in the products and solutions we deliver and their perception of the value we are providing to their business.
I constantly review my schedule be it in between meetings or through my assistant, who is continuously on top of the daily schedule and proactively ensures I don’t deviate from the plan.
After a day’s work, exercising to keep fit is extremely important for me. I really enjoy different types of sports activities during the week and on the weekend.
Dinner time with the family is the best. I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, playing with the kids, and having a conversation over dinner. It really helps the family to connect and relax.
Although I sometimes do a late evening run or cycle if I hadn’t in the morning, I’m typically in bed around 23:30.
