RTA honours du for connecting Dubai Tram with WiFi
du supplies wireless broadband to Dubai tram and 11 stations
The Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has honoured telecoms provider du, for its provision of WiFi on the Dubai Tram.
HE Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of the RTA was at the ceremony, held at the RTA's headquarters in Dubai as part of the Strategic Partners Participating in the Execution of the Dubai Tram Project event, and presented the award in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Saleem Albooshi, executive vice president, Network Development and Operation, du, said: "We would like to thank the RTA for presenting us with this award. It is an honour to have played a part in the successful implementation of the Dubai Tram, and we are thrilled to have our participation honoured in this manner.

Providing WiFi services to commuters on the Dubai Tram is a step towards smart city vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and we are proud to apply our expertise towards achieving the goals he set forth for Dubai."
Under its partnership with the RTA, du provides a WiFi service to Dubai Tram, supplying wireless broadband to Tram and 11 stations. The WiFi network is backhauled over du's state of the art 4G-LTE network. Users onboard the tram and inside stations can access WiFi services.
