Citrix announces new XenMobile release
Latest release aims to advance business ability with new efficiencies for users and a single plane of control for IT
Citrix has announced a new release of XenMobile enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution, the XenMobile 10.
The new release includes multiple design enhancements and the XenMobile suite of integrated business apps: WorxMail, WorxWeb, WorxNotes, WorxEdit, WorxDesktop and ShareFile.
Jesper Blomqvist Rydstrom, head of workplace, Defense and Security Company Saab, said: "Citrix delivers a powerful EMM solution, and we are looking forward to rolling out the new release. The simplified architecture in XenMobile provides a streamlined experience for IT, enabling us to scale and manage a growing mobile workforce in an efficient and highly secure manner, while preserving end user experience."
The new integration between WorxNotes and Exchange enables syncing of Outlook Notes on desktops with WorxNotes on mobile devices. The WorxNotes application allows users to create notes from text, audio and images or videos captured by the device camera.
The new XenMobile release also provides mobile users with a new Self Service Portal for managing tasks, such as tracking, locking and wiping lost or stolen devices. Based on Citrix testing, this can result in an estimated 20% reduction in IT help desk tickets from mobile users, which in turn, lowers IT operations costs and gives control to the end users.
The release, which supports strong authentication for applications using RSA Adaptive Authentication, and provides support for FIPS 140.2 advanced encryption, simplifies IT administration tasks, from enrolling, provisioning, configuring and deploying to troubleshooting of the entire mobility stack, including devices, apps and the infrastructure.
The new XenMobile client is available for XenMobile customers to download today. The server enhancements will be available in Q1 2015.
