Intersec 2015 kicks off
By  Stephen McBride Published  January 18, 2015

Intersec 2015, the region's largest security-industry B2B trade show, got underway at Dubai World Trade Centre today, playing host to vast numbers of solutions vendors from around the world.

In the coming days, will take you inside the show.

From physical solutions, such as premises access and fire safety, to analytics software tied to CCTV, Intersec exhibitors ran the security gamut.

As in previous years, tank-like vehicles stood out in the crowd at Intersec, as companies such as Dubai's NAFFCO and Wisconsin, US-based Oshkosh, demonstrated a range of fire-suppression products. Also prominent were a number of law enforcement vehicles that we were not allowed to photograph.

As the mobility industry permeates more and more of the consumer market, some B2B security vendors are adopting the concept for their own products. One example we saw was a 4K wearable camera by Panasonic that allows access to hard-to-monitor locations, such as crawlspaces and radio masts.

In addition, the UAE's smart government programmes were in evidence. Moscow-based Axxon demonstrated its solution for the Sharjah Safe City Project, which includes 500 fixed CCTV cameras and many more integrated into police vehicles.

Keep visiting over the next few days for our updated Intersec 2015 coverage.
