Real-time IT management company, ManageEngine, today announced that its Desktop Central tool now supports Samsung KNOX, the South Korean giant's proprietary security platform aimed at allowing professional and personal data to co-exist on the same handset.

By partnering with Samsung to support KNOX, ManageEngine hopes to bolster its desktop and mobile device management (MDM) software.

Smartphone market leader Samsung developed KNOX as an enterprise BYOD solution exclusive to Samsung mobile devices.

"In 2013, we partnered with Samsung to support SAFE devices. Now, we're adding KNOX capability to [take] that partnership one step further," said Mathivanan Venkatachalam, director of product management at ManageEngine.

"This enhanced security feature helps IT teams exercise precise control over the corporate data accessed by employees. And it provides flexible mobile device management operations without compromising on data security."

Desktop Central support for Samsung KNOX is available immediately. Prices start at $150 for 10 mobile devices annually. The Free Edition of Desktop Central manages up to 25 computers and 5 mobile devices.
