Ericsson pushes Networked Society vision at ITU Telecoms World 2014 Ibrahim believes smart cities are the key to the Networked Society.

Swedish telecoms vendor, Ericsson, will be pushing the concept of smart cities in the company's envisioned Networked Society, this week at ITU Telecoms World 2014, which is being held from 7 to 10 December in Doha, Qatar.

"We are pleased to be part of ITU Telecoms World 2014, where we are demonstrating our latest innovations that will drive the transition into the Networked Society," said Rafiah Ibrahim, president, Ericsson Region Middle East.

"Ericsson is committed to creating new solutions that will pave the way to a more connected future, in support of our key partners in the industry who are contributing to the region's growing Smart Cities."

At the event, Ericsson will demonstrate M2M (machine to machine) technology in the automotive, utilities, energy and transport sectors.
