The Department of Finance-Abu Dhabi (DoF) has hosted its second Abu Dhabi ERP System (ADERP) Users Forum this week, to update users of the system on the latest developments and applications.

The forum was attended by 650 system specialists and employees from government entities across Abu Dhabi, who also discussed user experiences with specialists and system users.

Abdul Aziz Al Hareb Al Yousef, executive director, General Budget sector of the General Directorate of Budgeting and member of the ADERP Steering Committee, opened the forum's sessions and highlighted the wise leadership and directives of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who set the development of the ADERP system in motion.

The forum is part of DoF's commitment to achieve effective financial management of the general budget across all departments. The forum covered topics including the system's various applications, such as the Automated Procure-to-Pay System, human resources and employee life cycle management, securing and protecting government services, as well as implementing a financial integrated system in budget preparation and the monitoring of expenditure.

The ADERP system represents significant improvements for government financial work performance within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It combines the latest IT systems, highest standards of quality and efficiency and the rationalisation of government budget spending. Having a universal system in place costs 20 times less, than implementing an independent system for each government entity.

So far, 37 government entities have begun to use the system, which has increased from 29 last year. Over 15,000, people are currently using the system, compared to 10,500 users last year, and 800,000 transactions are being processed daily.

Abdul Aziz Al Hareb Al Yousef said: "The ADERP system was designed to manage shared government resources in line with best international practices. It plays a strategic role in developing the infrastructure of an advanced financial framework within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, enhancing transparency and the efficiency of government financial operations, and allowing us to plan according to data accuracy standards and ensure sustainable development."

He added: "We continuously seek to provide sustainable financial resources to government entities in accordance with the highest levels of professionalism, integrity and performance, to support Abu Dhabi Government's efforts to achieve a higher level of unified strategic direction across all local entities."
