The second annual Women in STEM in the Middle East will be held on January 14-15, 2015 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai.

The event brings together women speakers and delegates who are successful in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM), to highlight their success and to increase the interest and confidence of young women pursuing degrees and careers particularly in the fields of STEM. The event is hosted by the Meera Kaul Foundation.

This year's conference will include awards to honour leading women in STEM, and hackathon, to allow women software programmers and UI and graphic designers to identify and showcase their wide-ranging expertise and in-depth know-how.

Meera Kaul, Global Chair of Meera Kaul Foundation commented: "Many young girls are reluctant to be a part of the STEM fields due to numerous reasons such as typecasting and conservative norms and we are hoping to break these barriers and stereotypes by providing mentorship and industry-focused role models for these determined women who want to lead and be successful."

The foundation focuses on women and women-led enterprises in STEM in North America, Eastern Europe, Africa, China, India, and countries across the Middle East. The Meera Kaul Foundation's primary objective is to make a difference by growing communities through investing in women.

The event is open to women who are in the fields of STEM; in addition to women entrepreneurs or those aspiring to be one. Registration for this landmark event is open to women from the Middle East, China, Africa, and India at www.womeninstem.com.
