Avaya to cement mid-market focus and solutions offerings
UC solutions vendor realigns partner engagement model
Unified communications (UC) solutions major Avaya Inc, has revealed it's sharpening its mid-market focus as the company moves to realign its channel engagement model, which will see it place more emphasis on solutions selling.
The vendor revealed this at the 2015 PartnerConnect Conference, which has brought together more than 1000 customers and channel partners from across the global growth markets (GGM), a huge theatre of markets covering countries from Africa, Middle East to China.
The conference, which is being held under the theme "Beyond," has also seen Avaya unveil its strategic direction for 2015, which will see it focus more on enhancing solutions for the mid market and certififying partners to focus more on developing expertise.
According to Avaya, as it tranforms its business to respond to a changing business environment, it wants to provide a platform for customers, partners and global leadership to engage, and enable organisations to look beyond their challenges today and transform to be ready for the future.
Delivering his keynote address, Pierre-Paul Allard, Avaya's senior vice president, Worldwide Sales, outlined that the company will champion engagement in the coming year, enabling its customers and the entire partner ecosystem to successfully navigate the transition into the new wave of future-ready mobile, cloud and application technologies.
Allard said as the IT industry moves into an era where everything is software defined, it is imperative that the engagement model with channel partners evolves from pure volume and hardware sales to a solutions and services approach that advocates partners to develop some expertise.
