Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for free zone technology park Dubai Silicon Oasis, has announced the launch of the newly developed TechTerms application.

The app, which is free to download and is available in both Arabic and English on iOS and Android phones acts as a search engine for technical words and a technology dictionary. It is the DSOA 's first product offering as part of its commitment to Islamic economy initiative.

Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak, deputy CEO, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said: "We are confident the TechTerms app will add significant value to the Islamic economy initiative. This user-friendly app will prove handy to anyone looking for the meaning and explanation of technical terms or jargons.

"DSOA is committed to supporting creative and innovative youth-driven projects in the fields of Arabic and digital content. We encourage all individuals to benefit from the support and incubational environment at Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre by presenting an innovative idea that supports Arabic and digital content".

In its first phase, the app is downloadable and users can search for technical words even when offline. In phase two, the app will be made interactive, allowing users to submit new terms for DSOA's approval and inclusion in the application.
