The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) is using GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK to launch its GIS Dashboard Mapping Service, which will provide a diverse range of new features and services to the public. These services include providing clinic and hospital locations across the Emirate, as well as information on facilities, doctors, warnings on counterfeit medication, eligibility to practice medicine in Abu Dhabi and information on disease outbreaks.

This is the second year that HAAD has exhibited at the event and it hopes to educate and create awareness for its e-services and 19 applications, which are available on iOS, Android and Windows.

Ali Mohamed Al Ali, Department Manager Information Technology Services, HAAD, says: “We would like to use GITEX to market and advertise our services to the public. So far many people have visited the stand and been unaware of the e-services we have to offer.

“We need to create more awareness and show people the services we have available. We want other government entities to know what we are doing, we want to see what other entities are doing and see how we can compete. We also want to network and enhance products.”

Out of the 19 services that HAAD offers, only one is for government-to-government purposes. This app is for sick leave certificates, which are generated through the app. It allows companies to check that their employees’ sick leave certificates are legitimate as all certificates issued across the emirate will be in the system.
