Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise voices optimism at GITEX
Telecoms vendor's enterprise division upbeat about growth
The Enterprise division of Alcatel-Lucent is upbeat after its spin-off from Alcatel-Lucent group at the beginning of October and is busy explaining how it can benefit the enterprise sector globally at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2014.
Jan Zuurbier, Senior Vice President, global sales and marketing, Alcatel Lucent Enterprise, explains that the Enterprise unit was spun off after it gained major investment from Huaxin, a Chinese investment company which now has an 85% stake in the firm.
Alcatel Lucent group owns the remaining 15%. “With this investment we have money to invest in innovation and R&D. It is a big change,” Zuurbier says.
The ongoing relationship with Alcatel Lucent group is valuable as it will provide continuity for existing customers of the enterprise division.
Looking forward, Zuurbier sees much room for growth. “Alcatel Lucent group and the Enterprise Division has always been focused on providing ICT solutions. There are a number growth of areas in terms of solutions and geography.
“Geographically, clearly China, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Eastern Europe and North America are the five territories where we are investing significantly. In terms of solutions, we are investing in unified access, unified communications and cloud,” he adds.
