Taiwan strives for IT excellence at GITEX
Executives of some of the country’s leading IT firms present products at press conference
Executives of some of Taiwan’s leading IT firms presented their products at a Taiwan Excellence Products Launch & International Press Conference at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2014.
Elina Hui-Ling Lee, Executive Director of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), hosts of the press conference, said the organisation saw GITEX as an important exhibition to promote Taiwanese firms.
“GITEX is one of our most important ICT platforms, to bring the best technology products from Taiwan. Taiwan is famous for its research and its ICT sector, so we place a focused approach on the Middle East market and are always welcoming more trading opportunities.” said Lee.
“GITEX is important for not only the Middle East, but also for the North Africa, East Africa, and South Asia [regions].”
Lee added that Dubai too played an important role for Taiwanese ICT firms. “We also [see] high value for Dubai. Dubai is the land of opportunity and land of [the] future. It is a very important platform for our re-export in these regions.”
