Ericsson recognises Smart Dubai Initiative at GITEX Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr received the award from Ericsson’s Rafiah Ibrahim.

On behalf of the Higher Committee of Smart Dubai Initiative, Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr, Assistant Director-General of The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, member of the Executive Committee of Smart Dubai Initiative, received the honorary by Ericsson’s Networked Society to the leading vision of HH’s Dubai Smart City.

Dr Aisha Bin Bishr, said: “The vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed is to harness the power of technology in order to build a new reality in the city of Dubai, to establish a new level of living and bring into play a different development model with services to benefit everyone. As we enter a digitally-driven future, Dubai will become one of the biggest world laboratories for Smart City functions, connecting every individual to the city in a seamless, efficient manner.”

Rafiah Ibrahim, President of Ericsson Region Middle East, said: “The Dubai Smart City project symbolises our vision at Ericsson for the future world where everything that can benefit from connectivity will be connected. We believe that we will be living in a Networked Society where every industry and every individual are empowered to reach their full potential. For this reason we are today honoring the Dubai City project with the ambition of recognising Dubai as a role model for other cities.”
