Dubai's du announces 900Mbps achievement at GITEX Du CEO Osman Sultan says fast networks can transform society.

du demonstrated LTE-Advanced at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2014 with the world’s highest peak throughput of 900Mbps, using three carrier components (3CC) with MIMO 4x4.

The state-of-the-art demo demonstrated the future-proof readiness of du’s 4G LTE network, according to the company. When launched commercially it will offer Ultra Mobile Broadband experience to its customers.

Saleem M. Al-Balooshi, Executive Vice President of Network Development and Operations at du talked with GITEX Times to comment on the achievement. The service which will be commercially available by the end of 2015, according to Al-Balooshi.

“We are proud to announce that we have achieved 900Mbps in our LTE network, which is one of the fastest speeds in the world. Our partner Huawei has been the one helping du to accomplish this achievement,” he told GITEX Times.

Al-Balooshi  explained: “We are working with the industry players and regulators to launch it commercially, as the technology is now ready.”

This speed will be offered to du’s consumer and enterprises customers, Al Balooshi adds.
