CommVault has today announced a new consulting service that enables customers to rapidly design data protection services as a critical component of their private cloud infrastructure.

The new service aims to tackle a perennial weakness in private cloud implementations that Commvault say has prevented enterprises from reaping the benefits of modern cloud architectures.

"The benefits and barriers to private cloud adoption are causing organisations to seek strategic data management approaches that can maximise the value of their data and technology assets," said Robert Kaloustian, vice president, worldwide technical services, CommVault.

"CommVault's new Private Cloud Services Design offering addresses cost, time and risk - the Achilles' heel of private cloud implementation - to speed the transition to cloud infrastructure and help improve agility, business alignment and service level transparency."

CommVault's private cloud services design offering allows customers to design a service-centric approach for data management supporting the private cloud in approximately six weeks. It is aimed at organisations that lack the necessary skills and experience to design a data management strategy.
