Application performance infrastructure firm Riverbed Technology, has announced it will demo its Application Performance Platform solution at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2014.

The platform is designed to deliver location-independent computing through a number of Riverbed's integrated solutions. SteelHead, SteelFusion, SteelApp, SteelCentral and SteelStore are aimed at WAN optimisation, branch converged infrastructure, application delivery, performance management, and cloud-integrated storage, respectively.

"Any modern enterprise should focus on eliminating the limitations imposed by distance and location as its primary objectives with end-user experience and satisfaction being as crucial as ever," the company said in a statement. "Riverbed offers the technology to enable businesses to ensure the flawless delivery of those applications to better leverage global resources, radically reduce the cost of running their business and maximise employee productivity."

Riverbed's participation at GITEX this year will be focused on raising awareness about the company's transformation from a mono-product company offering WAN optimisation only, to where it is now, with the emergence of its Application Performance Platform.

At GITEX 2014, the company will also announce the expansion of its regional partner network. This year Riverbed also celebrates its expansion into Turkey, Saudi Arabia and three regional clusters, namely North Gulf, South Gulf, and Africa anchored by Egypt.

"GITEX 2014 is one of the most important networking platforms for Riverbed to connect with its vendors, partners and customers," said Taj ElKhayat, managing director, Middle East, Turkey, North, West, and Central Africa, Riverbed Technology. "We are aiming to increase our visibility and reinforce Riverbed as the leader in application performance infrastructure, by delivering the most complete platform for location-independent computing and enabling organisations to use distance and location to gain a competitive advantage.

"Globally we have passed our first billion dollars in revenues, which is quite an exciting time for Riverbed, and the METNA region witnessed significant growth during 2013. We are expecting a great level of engagement with existing customers as well as partners at GITEX this year and are looking forward to more success and growth in the future."
