Specialized Technical Services (STS), an e-payment solutions provider from Jordan, has expanded the features of its PayONE platform for electronic payment and transfer solutions in a bid to better exploit the growing demand for e-services in the region.

Although traditional payment methods like cash and cheques still account for the majority of payment and transfer in the region, demand for e-payment solutions was increasing, the company said.

“The region is making rapid strides towards the provision of electronic services in government and private businesses that are looking to cut their overhead expenses and increase their profits while sustaining a high level of customer satisfaction. A critical component of online services and goods provision is a simple and highly secure mechanism of payment collection and processing,” commented Ramzi Zeine, chairman of STS.

Key markets for STS are the Gulf countries, Jordan and Egypt, but the company is still keen to expand its reach, Zeine told IT Weekly. “We are now in serious discussions with some entities in Sudan and Libya and also with Tunisia and Algeria so North Africa is the next place we are heading,” he said.
