Sony launches ‘world’s slimmest’ 1TB HDD Sony claims the HD-S1A is the world's slimmest 1TB portable HDD.

Sony Middle East and Africa FZE this week announced the availability of its HD-S1A, which the company claims is "the world's slimmest 1TB portable HDD".

The storage device is available in black and silver variations and is designed to fit into a pocket or laptop sleeve. It weighs in at 155g and is 8.7mm thick.

The external HDD comes with a host a number of security utility solutions such as Password Protection Manager and Backup Manager.

A Data Transfer Accelerator facility is designed to enable faster data transfer from the PC via the USB 3.0 cable.
