MDS-SI has posted a decent number in the 2014 SI Power List. The company boasts cloud, data centre, virtualisation and security offerings and with more growth plans on the way, the company looks set to continue cementing its business.

What were the company’s milestones in 2012?
MDS was able to secure the largest data centre facility projects (Pacific Controls and Mubadala). In addition, we managed to launch an IT services company called MDS TS.

What are your strategic plans for the rest of 2013?
Our plan is to grow the IT services and outsourcing portfolio offerings. In particular, we are paying a lot of attention to offerings around security and virtualisation.

What were the main drivers for your revenue growth in 2012?
A huge chunk of our growth came from data centre infrastructure, systems integration and storage solutions. The three segments contributed immensely to the revenue growth.

Has the SI sector recovered from the market instability?
Although the SI sector in the region has improved over the last four years, there are still some challenges not least, the dearth of the much-needed IT skills in the solutions space.

Where will your business growth come from in 2013?
We expect our systems integration, storage solutions, data centre infrastructure and the high-end services business to spur our growth this year and beyond across the Middle East.
