Having set itself a $1m sales target for financial year 2014, Dubai-based NewRAS Technologies wants to help its clients to equip their businesses by integrating and using IT at the fulcrum of their core business operations. The SI is aiming to grow business in the transport and logistics, warehousing, hospitality and healthcare sector.

What were the company’s milestones in 2013?
Our major milestones in 2013 were partnering with new exciting vendors like Nutanix and Arista Networks. This helped us give varying solutions to our clients in the network infrastructure, server virtualisation, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), disaster recovery and big data.

What are your strategic business development plans for the rest of 2014?
For the rest of 2014, we would like to build up strategically on what we sowed in 2013 with our new vendors and move to target bigger data centre projects. We have set ourselves a very ambitious sales revenue target of over a $1m in 2014.

What were the main drivers for your revenue growth in 2013?
We had targeted a few key verticals and continue to surge with business in those verticals namely transport and logistics, warehousing, hospitality and healthcare.

Has the SI sector recovered from instability in the region?
The systems integration market has definitely recovered well since we started in mid 2011. There was a major boost to the IT sector in the first half of 2014 due to the Expo 2020 announcement.
