I see vendors having trouble creating partner loyalty for their products against their competition. The pot available for solutions is driving partners to tie up with multiple vendors, resulting in lack of focus.

What’s your career history to date? How did you end up working in Bahrain?

I kick started my career in 1998 with Fucom International, which is one of the biggest and diversified retail companies in Bahrain as a retail executive for Middle East. The challenge back then was to adapt as I was coming from a totally different market in India. I later moved to KSA for couple of years before returning to Bahrain as a product manager for Samsung under Bin Hindi. In 2011, I joined AJM Kooheji Group as division head IT digital.

If you could improve one thing about the channel business what would it be?

Improvisation should be a constant factor in any industry and the channel is not restricted to one quick fix. I would like to structure the channel and classify it according to the market segments, so it becomes autonomous and future proof.

What product or technology should the channel watch out for this year?

In today’s dynamic technology sector, one needs to stay abreast with new offerings coming into the market. The technology which is gaining lots of interest in the market at present is smart wearable devices, which I believe will transform the mobility and computing landscape going forward. Another area partners need to focus on is smart power.

What is your proudest career achievement to date?

I have always believed that the best in so far as my career accomplishments are concerned is yet to come.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

I look at every day as a new beginning. I am a firm believer of dream big, building fast and starting solid.

What is the biggest mistake you have ever made since working in the IT market?

Each experience teaches one to become more proficient in their career and I have learnt that.

hich IT company, other than your own, do you most admire and why?

It has to be Google for making the world come to them to search for anything they want. It is amazing how the word Google today has emerged as a household name. I feel there isn’t a person who is IT Savvy who hasn’t used Google in their daily life.

What is the biggest challenge facing the Middle East IT channel?

What’s your favorite thing about the company you are currently working for?

It is an honour to be part of the AJM Kooheji Group. The company has always made me feel at home and the colleagues I work with are a part of my extended family.

What sort of interests do you have outside of work?

I am an avid reader and like to read whenever I have free time. I also try and spend as much time with my family.
