The 2015 edition of Autodesk's leading AutoCAD computer-aided design application is now available in the Middle East.

The new edition is described as the most ambitious redesign of the AutoCAD interface in over a decade, with new features and also a new ‘pay-as-you-go' subscription option.

The new release features a refined interface, for better interactions, which has also been redesigned to reduce eyestrain. A new Tab page feature allows users the ability to quickly open new and existing drawings, while ribbon galleries save time and clicks by visually accessing drawing content directly from the ribbon.

AutoCAD 2015 includes the ability to format text within a drawing similar to a word processor, with features like automatic bullets and numbering and super/subscript; the introduction of the new Autodesk Application Manager, a new tool that informs users of product updates and extensions and seamlessly downloads and installs them and the use of TrustedDWG technology, the original and most accurate way to store and exchange design data. Lastly, AutoCAD 2015 also offers easier ways to work with online maps and other geographic location information, as well as point cloud displays and other reality computing information.

The application is available in three versions, Autodesk AutoCAD LT, which contains essential 2D drafting and detailing tools; Autodesk AutoCAD, which adds 3D modeling tools and point cloud support and AutoCAD Design Suite Standard edition, which lets users extend their AutoCAD design workflow from pre-concept to completion with AutoCAD Raster Design and visual communication solutions.

AutoCAD will also be available through Desktop Subscription plans, so that users can pay for monthly, quarterly and annual packages, with a variety of purchase options.

"Users of AutoCAD in the Middle East region rely heavily on this design software solution for production and to stay organised. Looking to keep abreast of the latest design technologies, we are pleased to announce the Middle East availability of AutoCAD 2015-which features the most ambitious redesign of the AutoCAD interface in over 10 years," said Dr Jayant Deshpande, Director - CAE Division of Autodesk distributor Omnix International. "With the release of this new edition, design professionals can now design almost any idea imaginable with maximum productivity and connectivity. The AutoCAD platform, particularly in this latest version, continues to provide users with great flexibility, allowing them to use it for everything, which ranges from initial schematic design drawings and consultant collaboration to reviewing DWG files with contractors."
