China-based hardware vendor Lenovo today introduced two new additions to its FLEX family of dual-mode laptops.

The FLEX 2 laptops are available in 14- and 15.6-inch models and operate in Laptop or Stand configurations. Each comes with a full HD screen and 1920x1080 widescreen display on select models, plus an optional backlit keyboard.

The FLEX 2 range's Laptop mode is designed with productivity in mind through the traditional clamshell configuration, which also offers a multi-touch touchpad with an optional cool-metal palm-rest. By flipping the keyboard underneath the screen the unit enters Stand mode, which is geared towards multimedia and entertainment.

Users have the choice of NVIDIA GeForce graphics on models with up to fourth-generation Intel Core i7 processors, or dynamic AMD Radeon R5 M230 discrete graphics and AMD APU processors all the way up to AMD A8 models with on-chip Radeon graphics.

Geared towards multimedia, the models come with Dolby Advanced Audio v2 technology, and for video chat they pack an optional dual-array digital microphone for "truer-to-life" calls when using the 720p HD webcam.

The FLEX 2 laptops offer a choice of three storage options: up to 1TB of HD or hybrid SSD storage or up to 256GB SSD storage.

The range is available now at major UAE retailers, starting at AED2699.
