The Abu Dhabi Fishermen Cooperative Society has completed the rollout the UAE's largest WiFi enabled weighing scales deployment.

Sixty connected retail scales from Avery Berkel were installed by distributor Danway Emirates at the Cooperative's new fish market, recently opened at Mushriff Mall in Abu Dhabi.

The huge installation includes a total of 60 Avery Berkel IM500 scales, all fitted with WiFi units allowing them to communicate with the centrally managed computer, ensuring all pricing, item descriptions and labels are accurate as customers buy. The scales are in use in wet areas, which have to be washed down frequently, so the scales are ceiling mounted and suited to wet environments.

John Green, Avery Berkel Export Sales Manager said: "The new fish market is very impressive - I haven't seen anything of this size anywhere else, and we are thrilled to see Avery Berkel equipment used. This is the single largest installation of Avery Berkel IM500's installed anywhere in the world, and it was a real team performance from our partner Danway Emirates, and its retail team of sales and service personnel."

Avery Berkel UK, part of the ITW (Illinois Tool Works) Group, appointed Danway Emirates LLC as their premium partner for the distribution of Avery Berkel branded retail products across the UAE in 2013, since then the companies have been working hard to increase their presence across the region.
